Conclusion
Until now, from the point of evidence base, there are certain gaps in the role of anticoagulants in patients with high-grade large artery stenosis, repeated events, and minor strokes. Although it is based on small trials and indirect evidence, most clinicians believe that rapidly acting anticoagulants should be used. However, indiscriminate use of anticoagulation should be discouraged. Anticoagulation for ischemic stroke is reasonable to use in some circumstances and further trial evidence is required.
